Volunteers are the backbone of the Family Promise of Delco organization. Volunteers have many jobs:
Board Members are in charge of the administrative end - writing grants, planning fundraisers, developing partnerships with both the faith community and community at large as well as overseeing the Director.
Committee Members are involved in a specific committee chaired by a board member i.e. fundraising, development etc.
Congregational Volunteers interact directly with the families. They make dinner, serve as dinner overnight hosts, play with the children and chat with families while they are at the IHN Shelter. Congregation volunteers do not have to be a part of the congregation they serve with, although many are.
Day Center Volunteers are needed from time to time to help with donations or inventory or just to look in after the families.
Volunteer Interns whose major of study is in the Human Service field are always welcome. Family Promise of Delco can provide interns with hands on experience of that which is expected once they are in the Human Service field.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should contact the Director.
